The Digital Composition Studio is an interactive, multimodal studio in the University of Alaska Anchorage Department of English. DCS tutors and staff can help you create rhetorically effective multi-modal texts, such as dynamic Powerpoint and Keynote presentations, basic website designs, audio and video podcasting, and the like. Our purpose is to help you accomplish your rhetorical goals while also negotiating the technological demands of multi-modal texts.
The DCS first opened its doors at the beginning of the Fall 2009 term and has since continued to develop and grow. We currently have four primary stations for student use. Each station features a dual-boot system equipped with both Windows and Macintosh operating systems and a battalion of software applications to serve multimodal text composition. Our tutors and staff can help you to develop and create your multimodal text using the technologies that best serve your needs.

The DCS will be closed during the 2012 summer session. It will reopen in fall for regular hours. If you need any assistance or have any questions, please contact Heather Caldwell at hmcaldwell2@uaa.alaska.edu. Feel free to visit our "Tutorial" page for software tutorials.
