The DCS tutors have created tutorials for our most commonly used programs. The videos vary in format and cover the basics of each program. This site is still growing. If there is a program tutorial that you'd like to see, let us know!
These tutorials can be used in class, as a refresher to a DCS session, and for at home use if you cannot make it into the Studio.
- Adobe Fireworks - Adobe Fireworks allows a user to edit images, amongst other things. This series of tutorials offers a cheat sheet of icons and terms, a basic overview of photo-editing (video 1), and adding color and layers to an image (video 2).

- Audacity - Audacity is a free download. It is perfect for PC-users and Mac users that do no have GarageBand. Audacity allows users to record and edit your project. It is great for creating podcasts.

- GarageBand - GarageBand is available on most Mac computers. It is a user-friendly program that allows a user to create podcasts or music for class or for fun.

Converting GarageBand (YouTube video) by Andrea Maglinger. This tutorial provides several ways to convert a GarageBand file into an mp4 and an mp3 file.
- iMovie - iMovie is a user-friendly program that allows users to create movies. It is on most Mac computers. This tutorial goes over the basics of iMovie as well as how to add audio clips, still images, and do some basic editing.

- Keynote - Keynote is an Apple program in the iWorks series. This program allows users to create slideshow presentations. It also has a voice recording program. This tutorial discusses how to use Keynote, as well as how to create an effective presentation.

- MSWord formatting Basic - This 4 minute video covers the basic elements of how to format a paper using MSWord.

- MS Publisher - Publisher allows you to create professional technical documents that are image heavy, such as brochures, newsletters, and instruction sets. This tutorial goes over the basics of creating a document in Publisher.

- Pages - Pages is an Apple program in the iWorks series. This program allows users to create text documents (word processessing) and image + text documents (such as brochurse, business cards, and resumes). This tutorial goes over how to save a Pages file as a PDF file.

- Powerpoint - Powerpoint is a Microsoft program in the OfficeSuite series. This program allows user to create slideshow presentations. This tutorial presents how to use Powerpoint.

- ScreenFlow - ScreenFlow is another user-friendly program that allows movies. It is different from iMovie in several ways, most notably because it captures whatever you're doing on the computer screen, as well as your voice. You can upload audio tracks, videos, and slideshow to your video, or you can walk someone through a program online by capturing your steps on the screen. The first tutorial covers the based elements of ScreenFlow. The second tutorial covers how to speed up and slow down certain sections of the video.
