The English Department does have a variety of equipment available for student check out and loan. To check out equipment, email the DCS at thedcs@uaa.alaska.edu. Please indicate the item you wish to check out and the date/time you would like to pick it up. We only check out equipment during regular operating hours.
Come to the DCS to check out your item during open hours. Be sure to bring your WolfCard so we can register you into our system. Because we have a limited number of items available for check out, it is important to 1) verify we have the item on hand to check out by emailing us and 2) return your item promptly so other students can check out equipment.
Items available for checkout:
- Canon Camcorder
- Wireless Microphones
- Canon Power Shot Camera
- Cisco Flip Cams
- Thumbdrives (very limited amount)
- Olympus Audio Recorders
- Edirol Recorders
Terms and Conditions: By checking out our equipment, you are agreeing to return the item by the assigned date. When returned, the item ought to be in working condition and ought to contain all original parts and components, missing none by way of damage or neglect, either intentional or accidental.
If the lent equipment is not returned by the due date above and in the condition described above, then the English Department may take disciplinary action. Those actions will include the removal of the account's lending rights, and may include a request to place a hold on the account's UAA ID. If a hold is put on an account's UAA ID, then it is done so with the intent of receiving compensation for damaged or missing equipment. That hold will be removed when the determined value of the lent equipment is received by the English Department.
Equipment is determined to be checked out or lent, and loan determined to be consensual between loanee (the account) and loaner (the English Department), when equipment has left the English Department's vicinity, and when there exists a record of that loan. Equipment will no longer be checked out or lent, when it has been returned to the English Department, and when its corresponding record shows its return.
